Stroller friendly?…Yes!
Peak to Plains is my favorite trail to hit if we’re meeting up with a family that has a stroller in tow as the path is totally paved. It’s a big trail for bikers as well (so bring your bikes, scooters, etc.) The trail is plenty wide in most parts for everyone to enjoy the trail safely.
The trail runs through the gorgeous Clear Creek Canyon, and there are a number of bridges to cross and waterfront areas to explore. The best thing about the trail is that you can do a little or a lot and still feel like you had an adventure. You might also catch a glimpse of rock climbers depending on where you are which I know my kids find so cool. There are several parking lots scattered along the trail so there are many places to jump off from.
The only drawback is that Highway 6 runs along the trail but since it’s a small roadway, it doesn’t bother us much!
TRAIL TIPS
Bring your strollers, bikes, trikes and scooters. The trail is totally paved making it a great spot to bike as a fam! Finding stroller-friendly trails is tough which is why I love this one for strollers in the warmer months.
It can be snowy/icy in the winter. I don’t love icy trails (kids or not!) and though the pavement helps the snow to melt faster, it tends to stick around in the shady sections. It can be there into spring but I LOVE this hike in the spring as a way to avoid the muddiness of the dirt trail during this season.
